This event is getting better each year. See ice carvers creating
over 15 sculptures in various downtown Coldwater locations.
The carvers are professionals with approximately 50 years
of carving experience between them.
Again this year will be a Chili Tasting Competition featuring downtown restaurant/pubs. Get a card at Coldwater Executive Suites (28 W. Chicago) for only $5 and visit 8 downtown establishments, taste the chili, select the best tasting and then fill out your name, address and telephone number, drop card back in box at Coldwater Executive Suites to be eligible to win a $50 DBA gift certificate. All proceeds from the tasting will go to DBA special events. Kids are not to be forgotten at this year’s event.
There will be lots for kids from ages 3 on up to do on the 30th. Taylor’s Books and More will have a storytime beginning at 11 a.m. in the book store’s lower level. The Branch District Library Kids Room (3rd floor -- 10E. Chicago Street) will have a "hands-on" activity for children of all ages beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Area quilters will have their unique quilts on display at various businesses for all to view this wonderful form of art. The 2010 Ice Fest would not be possible without the support of major sponsors.
This year’s major sponsors are Michigan Gas Utilities, GCI, Wal-Mart Transportation 6843 and Wal-Mart Distribution Center 6034. Come watch the
carvers and enjoy meeting up with friends, family and others in
the community on what hopefully will be a bright and chilly
January day.
